The Pomodoro Technique

Studying for some (me) is, to an extent, a hellish experience. With everything everywhere happening all at once, it's hard to slow down and actually really focus, especially for long and especially if you've had too much screen time recently. The most effective studying technique that works for me is 'The Pomodoro Technique'.

It's simple and easy. You study for 25 minutes, you focus hard, you pay attention as much as you can and then... 5-minute break. Earth-shattering, I know, but hold on. this 5 minute break requires you to NOT go on a screen, LEAVE THE SCREEN.

Stand up, stretch, walk around your house, look at some plants (I find staring at plants works wonders for me). Your brain has had a crazy workout and needs to breathe, then you repeat until the 4th repeat, where you have a 15-minute break instead.

Super-duper easy, simple and effective (for me, everyone is different). Give it a try and suggest it to your friends, and don't forget, if it doesn't work for you, you can change it, it’s your studying. Sometimes I do 15 to 5 if I'm feeling tired. Finally, a fun fact: Pomodoro means tomato in Italian. Why is it called a pomodoro technique? Great question, why don't you go ahead and study it 😉
